Leadership Profile: Jamie Hogge

amie Hogge

The Corsican ram’s head in Jamie Hogge’s office isn’t left over from another occupant or a hunting trophy from her husband. The ram’s head belongs to Jamie and for the past 15 years has followed her from office to office. When her husband announced he didn’t want it in their house, Jamie simply found another way to keep her prized possession close.

Finding “another way” to get things done is what Jamie does every day in her position as advocate. Whether through her service on our Workforce board, as Patient Advocate for Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas or as an active volunteer with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Jamie has dedicated her professional and personal life to serving others and simply “getting it done.”

Jamie was appointed to the Workforce board more than a decade ago. Her marketing and public relations background (as past assistant to the City Manager of Beaumont) and her advocacy experience have proved invaluable assets to the Marketing and Child Care committees. Her advice to anyone looking for a job in today’s employment climate is to use all the resources that are available. “Our greatest accomplishment as a Board is providing ongoing opportunities for Southeast Texans to receive the skills, training and education they need to find employment,” said Jaime.

As a patient advocate and CASA volunteer, the individuals and families that Jamie works with frequently face seemingly overwhelming challenges on multiple levels. Her friends though describe her as always compassionate and a natural as an advocate for those who need a voice. “Scars remind us of where we have been,” she says. “They don’t have to indicate where we are going.”
